This morning a gathering of activists from Climate Rush and Bring Back British Rail continued the #FAREFAIL campaign by greeting train passengers at Charing Cross Station and giving them the service they deserve in return for their inflation busting train tickets.

Upon arriving at the station we were greeted by a friendly policeman, who shared our sentiment on the inflation busting fare hikes. We then set about displaying our lovely #FAREFAIL banner which we then decorated with our cute railway bunting embodied with activist’s messages of hope for the railways.
We then awaited our friends at Bring Back British Rail and some brave passengers on the 8:12 train from Sevenoaks to Charing Cross who chose to demonstrate their anger by showing #FAREFAIL tickets. At Climate Rush we feel our trains are overpriced and over crowed, so we decided to try and make things a bit better for the commuters by laying on the service they deserve in return for their inflation busting ticket. Activists went about giving out croissants and cups of tea which brought many a smile to the face of commuters.
Today’s protest saw the climax of a this week’s #FAREFAIL campaign which has encouraged fed up commuters to bombard the Treasury with tweet, texts and phonecalls to demonstrate anger at the never ending-fare rises. You can still take action by visiting http://www.farefail.org/ and piling the pressure on The Treasury and Department for Transport to bring down the rail fares. Which we all know will be better for commuters’ pockets and encourage more people to take trains not cars wo work which will be better for our environment.
