This week Climate Rush activists struck back at the hypocritical advertising of British Airways. In a subversion of BA’s #HomeAdvantage campaign, which reads ‘Don’t Fly, Support Team GB’, our activists are urging Londoners to join #TeamClimate. We believe joining #TeamClimate simply means making smart transport choices and minimising your environmental impact where possible. If you see a billboard in your area you think needs a Climate Rush make over take a picture and tweet @ClimateRush
The team at BA have been making us laugh with their silly #HomeAdvantage tweets; so we have kindly subverted and created some new ones for your tweeting pleasure. Create a real advantage for our environment and our athletes. Join #TeamClimate!
The Climate Strikes Back
What does the #HomeAdvantage sound like? The deafening sound of over 650 @british_airways flights per day. #TeamClimate

Why we decided to take action against BA
It has been fantastic to see the Team GB athletes excel at the games this summer. Jess Ennis, Victoria Pendleton, Mo Farah are great examples of what we can achieve as humans with dedication and commitment. We are proud of them (And yes, climate change activists can like sport).
The British public have been fantastic in their support of athletes throughout the games, in the process willing our athletes along to a record tally on medals. Sadly one company - British Airways - have been cynically manipulating the Team GB #homeadvantage hashtag to greenwash their brand. They have embarked on an advertising campaign encouraging people not to fly during the games. The truth is flights are already packed during this period because of the games: they will still be running over 650 flights per day.
British Airways are committed to aviation expansion in this country, totally disregarding our carbon emissions targets in the pursuit of profit. They pursue a path which will lock us into a climate change devastated future. The games are a special event witnessing humans and the forces of nature combining to create a beautiful spectacle.
In world impacted by runaway climate change the games would not be possible, there would be no more #homeadvantage, no more medals, no more hazy days in the sun cheering on our athletes; just extreme weather, lack of food and water, dangerous air quality, immense suffering. This isn’t an advantage to anyone.
