Cycling

Congratulations cyclists! You’re helping to cut pollution and carbon emissions, boost the economy and improve the nation’s health. But if cycling is so great, why is it often so unpleasant? The aggression of drivers, the exhaust fumes, the near-misses. The deaths.

16 cyclists died in London last year. The politicians want you to believe that this is inevitable, but there were no cycle deaths in Paris in 2011. Not one. Zero. Cycling in Paris is safe because city authorities make it safe, they don’t build killer junctions like Bow or Kings Cross. There’s nothing inevitable about cyclists dying.

Climate Rush has a proud history of cycle protests – we’ve occupied Westminster Bridge, road-blocked a Euston junction, flash-rode to TFL’s head office, stickered SUVs and clean-graffiti’d London’s busiest tunnel. And we’ll keep going until the carnage stops.
